Testing the patient record in practice
At the Projectathon for the EPR electronic patient record, all interested individuals and organisations can test their IT systems among themselves and against the EPR reference environment. This way, they can prepare for practical application of the EPR, primarily with regard to the Certification according to the Federal Act on the Electronic Patient Record (EPRA). The test focuses on all the IHE profiles required for the EPR, but in particular on the IHE profiles specific to Switzerland, the "national extensions".
The tests of EPR interoperability are voluntary and non-binding for all participants. They enable an intensive exchange of knowledge and a steep learning curve for all involved. This is why participation is strongly recommended - not just for future EPR providers, but also for developers of ‘primary systems’, e.g. clinical or practice information systems (CIS, PIS) that will be connected to the EPR system.
Test marathon events
The first EPR Projectathon took place from 25 to 29 September 2017 in Köniz, near Bern, and signalled a series of further test events: in Spring 2018, a Swiss EPR Projectathon was held within the IHE Europe Connectathon in April 2018 in The Hague. In September 2018, the second Swiss EPR Projectathon took place in Bern. Information on upcoming test events will be updated regularly on this website: Test events 2019.
Between these events, IT professionals can participate in online tests. If you would like to take part, please contact eHealth Suisse.
Maintain the connection
A Google Group for the EPR Projectathon has been set up for IT specialists to enable direct exchange of questions and information. If you would like to join, please contact the group manager.
